Take it from these four: adventurous programming is not the sole preserve of the éminence grise.

Every year, I SOLISTI gives its NextGeneration artists carte blanche to put together a concert programme. This season, Simon Binon, Niels Lukkesen, Brecht Valckenaers and Mathijs Everts have chosen works by György Ligeti and the post-Soviet repertoire.

Highlights: Mysteries of the Macabre, a trumpet solo by Annelies Van Parys – to be heard in Belgium for the first time – and a new work by Valckenaers for the unusual combination of trumpet, tuba, piano and percussion.
