I SOLISTI Summer School
INTENSIVE COACHING FOR YOUNG TALENT.
Following two successful editions over the past summers, the I SOLISTI Summer School has become an established feature of our program.
At the end of August 2026, we will once again welcome talented young musicians to Muziekcentrum De Bijloke. This time, these young people will receive intensive coaching from I SOLISTI mentors for not two, but three days.
Together with co-organiser Muziekcentrum De Bijloke in Ghent, I SOLISTI is continuing the Summer School with another edition offering not two, but this time three days of intensive coaching for young talent (aged 10 to 20) on wind instruments, percussion and double bass. We are delighted by the high level of interest. This year, we expect more than 60 participants from all corners of Flanders.
The young musicians can take lessons from accomplished musicians and are given the opportunity to explore the various aspects of being a musician in greater depth. Among other things, they are introduced to breathing exercises and instrument maintenance, delve deeper into their scores, and learn how their stage presence affects their playing and their audience. As the icing on the cake, participants will also be given two pieces to play together as a group, under the expert guidance of Simon Van Hoecke
Young people attending the I SOLISTI Summer School can take part in a recital on Saturday 29 August 2026. Those who, following the recital and a short intake interview with their parents, receive a positive evaluation will be able to join the YoungStars program for the 2026–2027 season.
