Three individuals, three generations, one place. None of them want to remain, yet none are willing to depart. Will they cling to the status quo or embark on creating a new world?

'We denken de wereld' (translates to 'We Think the World') is a collaborative creation born from the dialogues between theater maker Mieke Laureys, dancer Romeo Lothy, and poet Amina Belôrf.

Commissioned by I SOLISTI, composer Mathias Coppens crafts a new composition for oboe, bassoon, and percussion that ignites and inspires young minds. The music acts as a counterbalance to the flow of words on stage, at times gently meandering and at others erupting like a volcano of spoken word.

Amina Belôrf earned acclaim with her poetry collection 'Zonder het licht te breken' (Without Breaking the Light), where she draws from her father's migration narrative. Language is an indispensable part of her life, akin to food and drink. Mieke Laureys believes in the power of contemporary stories to provide hope and solace. Dancer Romeo Lothy hails from an urban dance background with a particular fondness for breakdancing.

This turbulent piece aims to provoke, captivate, and offer solace in these unsettled times.
