Siebe Thijs
Siebe Thijs is a composer who creates work at the intersection of music, performance, and installation art. His practice stems from a fascination with sound and its social and physical meanings, exploring the relationship between instruments, objects, and the human body.
His music has been performed by organizations including I SOLISTI, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, and Muziektheater Transparant, as well as by various international ensembles and festivals across Europe. In addition to concert music, he develops interdisciplinary projects and music theatre productions.
In 2025, his first music theatre production, PILGRIMAGE, premiered as a co-production with, among others, Muziektheater Transparant, DE SINGEL, and KVS. He studied composition in Ghent, Antwerp, and Graz with Bram Van Camp, Wim Henderickx, and Clemens Gadenstätter, and attended masterclasses with various international composers.
From 2027 onward, he will serve as artist-in-residence at I SOLISTI, where he will develop new works with a focus on experimentation and interdisciplinarity.
